Previously I was the CEO of TapMap.com, a company which enabled retailers to upload realtime data about products on their shelves. Consumers with mobile devices could scan a barcode and find the location of that product, as well as the price in local stores. The company was started in Ireland and moved to Silicon Valley. We raised money from angel investors in Ireland the UK and Russia. Built using Ruby, with a development team in Dallas and Belarus.
GrokLabs is a spinoff of TapMap. Groklabs is an iOS and Android app that allows you to extract price data from shelf labels. GrokLabs is currently in beta.
I've been advising Building Eye, a website that aggregates data from cities and helps people to find out about upcoming building projects. It's a big ambitious site, and will be very valuable for the construction and real estate industry. It's being built using PostGreSQL with PostGIS
